I’m all for science.
When I searched Duc Omaha for that p/n it came up with two results for ”Thermal Comfort Kit for Monster 937”, 6992A011A and 6992A011B. I sent a contact form message asking them if I needed both, due to there being a separate part number for each side cover, but maybe you already know the answer.

Speaking of science, have you seen this: DUCATI MONSTER 937 POWER- SHOT (ACTIVE SUPPRESSOR)? (Use the Google translate bar at the top to render the page in English)

His YouTube channel (Power-Works) has some interesting videos, but the YT auto-translate feature is not working in English at the moment. It was a couple of weeks ago.

I put one on my DesertX just before having foot surgery last week, so I haven’t done more than check my installation for leaks on the side stand in the garage, which is about 120°F today. Praying for Fall weather, and soon!

I’ve only ordered one part but if I need them both, I’m sure they will reach out to me since you asked.

I have not seen that exhaust.

I got the answer from DucatiOmaha parts:
“6992A011A-- this one is the new part number for the comfort kit so order this online”

I went ahead and ordered the heatshield ... hope to pick it up on Friday when I go in for the annual service.

I never noticed the duct ... assumed the kit is just the panel. Either Jacques or I will be able to tell soon enough depending on who gets it first.

As I understand it, it just keeps the heat under the seat as opposed to exiting and hitting your thigh. I'm assuming Ducati did proper testing as their bikes get a lot of negative press (and owners reviews) on excessive heat.

The cruiser guys have been doing it for years and there's a company that specializes in those called Captain Itch: Harley-Davidson Heat Shields (captain-itch.com)

Would make the engine run hotter, as a tradeoff, I presume. But perhaps less so that fairings.

It's likely just a barrier to a little radiant heat that may also keep the radiator air from blowing through that opening when the fan is on at a light. Not changing any temperatures just trying to route it away from the rider. V-Twins often put the rider directly over the rear cylinder so even though the engine is running at the same temp as any Euro5 bike, the rider feels more of the effect.

Please, some photos when it's installed and you can provide us an impression of how it may help. As always, thank you so much for all your insight and comments.

If it weren’t for the site auto-refreshing and wiping out my posts while I type them, I’d have given more info on the Power Shot suppressor. There’s a thread over on the DesertX forum if you’re interested in a heat and midrange power sag solution.
I’m about to give up on this site, it just wiped out 5 minutes of painfully slow input on my iPad. Yeah, I know - sounds like a Boomer problem!🤣

Looks like it does what a cat delete does for performance with potentially less noise. I'm unsure how it would change the temp but if you want a potentially quieter decat option it may be worth a try. Mine only pops on full throttle high rpm upshifts which is most likely the qs cutting spark. But I did block the air injection.

The 6992A011B / 6992A011A rider thermal comfort kit came in. As is tradition, there were no instructions. Normally I just hold things up and reason them out. In this case I have a few pieces that I am not 100% on the fitting. I’ll take a closer look this weekend and do a little testing. In the meantime…pictures
