I was wondering if you would do that after seeing they were the 2024 SP spec calipers.

I’ve been looking at them since I got the bike, just needed a nice set to come up for a good price. Once the pads bed in I’ll report back. I’m staying with the oem master cylinder for now which is an 18mm. The SP comes with a 16mm to match the smaller pistons in these calipers. They say 19mm is too big and 17mm is perfect so I’m going to see if 18mm gives me a slightly stiffer lever feel.

I did the front and the rear shocks with ohlins. Changed out the license plate holder, changed to a lipo battery, put frame sliders, and a radiator guard. I also did the raised seat as I am 6'2" and pushing 260, so the stock shock setup was not setup for me. I was getting a lot of sag on accelerating and after the change if i rip it coming out of a corner in sports mode the front end will start to creep up a few inches with no sag. The bottom pick was before i changed the holder.

Having the right suspension setup absolutely changes the bike’s entire personality. Was a fun bike from stock, but becomes much sharper and tighter. Finishes corners better and as you noticed, will pull long smooth powerwheelies out a corner in fifth rather than drifting wide.

Nice! Did you do the front and rear shocks yourself?
No, I have a ducati mechanic that did my front and rear swaps and worked with me to get them dialed in for street and more aggressive riding for my preference. I helped him do them, but for what he charged me it was the price of walking into a Ducati dealer. The front were a complete PIA as they dipped the front threads in locktite, had to use a torch and slowly got about 1 turn at a time before we had to heat it back up.

Ducati Performance / Ohlins. The mount worked best with all the stuff I have going on.
I installed an Ohlins steering damper that came with a Ducabike/Ducati bracket set the dealer sent me. I'm not pleased with the bracket since it holds the damper at a 5 degree divergence from the handlebar. The photo shows the part number and the divergence with the bar in neutral, wheel & tire straight. What make was the mounting bracket set you used and where did you get it?

Your upper mount looks identical to mine. Same cnc pattern. Is it possible that you didn't get the ball end threaded on completely? Maybe they sent you a slightly longer damper than the OEM kit came with. It all looks identical from the picture but they make a 63mm stroke and a 68mm stroke. Both would work, but maybe the length causes it to sit slightly askew.

I don't think that the length of the damper or the rod makes a difference. The rod just slides through the damper as the steering angle changes. I believe the mount's attachment to the ball end doesn't extend toward the rear of the bike enough. And the mount is properly placed and torqued.

I think you are right. It could only be that the handlebar bracket is not long enough or the keyswitch mount is too far back. My kit was the ducati performance accessory and the part number you show is oem on the Monster 30th anniversary. Is there any chance the triple clamps or bars are aligned differently due to the larger diameter forks?

I don't know. But since the bracket is clearly not correct, I'll call the dealer today and see if there's an answer or solution. Otherwise, I'll have to curb my OCD and live with it, since it doesn't affect performance.

So I removed everything and reassembled the brackets and attached the damper. But this time, I took the flared spacer/collar that had been on top of the damper and placed it, inverted, underneath. Doing that corrected the alignment and angle problems. I spoke with the dealer parts guy who though it would be OK but I hope it's stable enough to be safe.

I see. That is how I assembled mine and I've flogged it to 142mph and it didn't cause any issues.
It appears that I misinterpreted the somewhat vague illustration of what the spacers look like in the instructions. I sent a copy of the photo to NYC Ducati and they also confirmed that the photo is consistent with the setup on their 30th anniversary model in their shop. I really appreciate your willingness to help with this!
