There's lots of options for bar-end mirrors, their size/shape is going to determine how well they work. It's really not hard to install, you use a friction mount that expands inside the bar when you tighten a bolt.
You can spend varying amounts to get really nice mirrors, I personally like the Fenrir mirrors I got - great visibility, finish is surprisingly nice for a Chinese brand. The price for these raised a couple of times as I think they got more popular (when I got them they were $40). They make various styles, similar to other Chinese brands that do most of the main styles you see out there.
