Has anyone had any experience with these stands? Are they stable? Good or bad experiences.

I like the look of them because they are small and don't take up much room. Rear swingarm stands are generally quite large.

Thanks

Had one when i had a 900SS, works great. Very stable.
Its holds the bike up quite high, so it can be a bit of a pull to get it up there, but the action is just like a centre stand.

The rod on mine bent then broke after some time, (its a long shaft, and holds up a bit of weight), i rang Andersons, and they sent me a new Shaft, free of charge. :) Nothing like good service.

A very good product

Cheers

The rod took a long time (months) to break after it first started to bend. It didn't just let go. [thumbsup]

I think Andersons said they had changed the rod material after a few complaints.

I now use the old rod as a very useful drift to remove steering head bearing races and such, has a nice wide T at the top for positive strikes of a ball pein.

I've had one for 4 years for my m900 - no bending, no breaking, very stable.

You need to check that it will work on your bike though. On my m900 I had to take relocate the clip that holds the fuel overflow hose because it was mounted in the crankcase hole that the rod goes through.

On my m1000, however, the header pipe brackets are mounted in both sides of the crankcase hole - so can't use it.

Hey Gianni,

+1 on the Goldfish story - I have one sitting in the garage that is brand new - took the wrapping and, wondered where to stick the rod (and no it won't fit there [cheeky]), gave up and it is still sitting where I left it.

You are welcome to try it out and see if it works. Otherwise if you buy Goldfishes and get it to work please put the info up on the DML so that I can have a go... [clap]

Cheers,

that stand works well, i used mine when i pulled the frame off for a respray, it sat there for weeks holding the engine and swingarm up, with a car stand under the front cylinder. very sturdy and stable, i wouldn't worry about the rod too much, it will only be a concern after it gets a bend in it and is ignored. so now you know about it it's just something to keep an eye on.
word of warning though, SOME aftermarket exhaust systems will not allow the use of the stand as they are either too big or plumbed so they foul the holes on either side of the cases. easy to check though. [thumbsup]

I have had one for 18 months.... Like BadboyBubby (Nice T**ts Flo) I had to relocate the fule overflow clip....
And I also had to adjust the rear brake lever as it was preventing me from pushing the rod right through... Once they were sorted
it is easy to pull up by yourself, but even easier with 2....

recommend it to anyone...
