02Carbon - Buyer beware!

I had the worst experience with O2Carbon. They state that all items ship within 2 days and Satisfaction Guaranteed.

It took 4 weeks and 5 emails before they shipped my CF side covers and when I finally got them (received 6 weeks after ordering) they didn't fit my S2R. The mounting holes don't quite match up and there was no notch for the pillion brackets to fit in. The holes might have matched up if I cut the notches but didn't want to take the chance.

They also state that items must be returned within 10 days of receipt in order to get a refund but now I can't get them to respond to any of my emails.

The quality is nice, but they don't fit my bike and their service or lack there of just sucks. I guess I am going to sell these and never deal with those guys again. Anybody got a set of CF side panels for an S2R and wants to trade for standard model side panels?

Sorry, just venting and giving a warning.

If you take off your pillion brackets, you should be able to check if the mounting holes line up.
I dont think that these side covers a made or sold as model specific, rather they have to be cut out to fit. In fact one of the German sites state the the covers they sell are without the pillion cut outs.
It does assume however that the purchaser has the capability to carry out any modification.

I'll try that. I didn't want to do anything to them as the packaging states they won't accept returns if modified. Guess they won't accept them anyway if they won't respond. Thanks.

Hey Chupa, Thanks for the idea. I took off the pillion brackets and they did line up. I had to dremel a little bit off the top left end of the of the left cover as it was slightly misshaped and hitting the frame. I was actually able to remount the pillion brackets without cutting out notches for them. These side covers seem to be curled in a little more on the bottom so that they mount in without needing the notch. Thanks again. [thumbsup]

Thanks for the offer Darcstar, but as you see from the above post the problem with the covers has been solved.

My previous statement about 02Carbon still stands as their shipping time and customer service just plain sucks.
