That was no apology, just public relations, trying to defuse the situation. Too bad, it seems to have dominated any other positive discussions about the race.

I've always liked to watch Yates ride, but now I could care less if I see him race again.

Suzuki should have fired him and given his ride to someone who deserves it (Pegram Picotte, Barnes...), but I guess that they're the last bastion for jackasses who want a factory ride in AMA.

The AMA should suspend him for at least enough races to make it impossible to win the championship this year and reduce his value to Suzuki. Maybe that'll make others think before doing stupid crap like that, and Suzuki might think about some personnel changes.

This guy is dangerous. I guess he will have to kill someone before Suzuki and the AMA do something about him.

With that race being a double...no points in the first 3 oughta do it.
Sounds like he also doesnt get to race in Supersport either, so no money or points there.
I think I'm satisfied with that. [smiley=ok.gif]

I still think its abit on the light side. We'll have to wait to see what happens fron the KWS/Fania camp now.

He also has the choice of a $2500 fine/ attend an AMA approved anger management class or a $5000 fine. Humiliation. If the rest of his season is mediocre he's at least finished with Suzuki. Hope it works and he becomes a talented-professional. I don't think what he did should end his career. Extremely dumbass move though. I really enjoyed seeing Mladin win, but the Yates thing was a big distraction.

I would have liked to see at least a 3 race suspension and a fine. At most I would have liked to see Suzuki fire that worthless piece of ... and hire someone who deserves the spot. I'm always one who sees both sides of things but in this case Yates was dead wrong in actions and words and he should suffer the consequences like the 2 year old he is. [smiley=angry.gif]

What is even worse about that whole crash is that Fania, like most of the slower guys, was taking the turn wide, outside the line. If Yates had stayed on the line, inside him, none of it would have happened. I spent most of the race around Turn 5 (where this happened) and watched the front-runners go inside lapped riders there. In any case, looks like Yates will not have much of a season now. He sure earned it!
