I just read an interview today on the AMA Superbike website with Neil Hodgeson. It is no secert he is going to Motogp next year, but he wasn't happy with the new spec tire rule for next season. I also read that Frankie Chile will retire if the rule stays in place. What are the people in charge thinking ? Next season could have been great with new bikes from 3 of the big four and a new mille from aprilia. They should be trying to get all of the factories involved again.
I love watching motogp but I also love to watch production based bikes and good close racing.

It is looking like MOTOGP will be coming back to the states next year, and Laguna Seca is and has been gearing up for possibly being the track they use. So, do not be so worried :)

Although I am not a fan of the new rules, if you read the news on AMASuperbike.com it appeared that only two manufacturers were committed to racing WSBK prior to the rule change. I assume that was Ducati and Suzuki again.

I think WSBK is on its way down...

At Laguna Seca this year, our friends who have been camping at Laguna since the 80's, said that LS in gearing up to be a MGP track, with all the mods they have done for the bikes. Would be very cool to have it back a LS.

From what I heard LS may not even have WSB within 3 years. The reason is that since the army base on which it is constructed is now out of business. Housing has been put up and the residents are complaining of the noise which is why track days have been reduced to next to nothing. GP's will be comming to either Barber or Homestead if they get their s**t together. I hope my info is wrong, cuz LS is sooooo much fun.

LS makes to much money for SCRAMP, and it is funded privately by lots of FatCats. The MGP rumor is no myth at LS.
They have constructed the new garages they would need for MGP and are going to be adding more turns. There were a few other things that were in the works as well. LS is not in danger of becoming a little landfill ;)

What kind of moron would move next to a world-famous racetrack and not expect some noise? I'd give my left arm to live near that track (...on second thought, that might be a bad idea as I would have difficulty working the clutch)
