Winter storage

Just passing on info, nothing in it for me. I keep my bikes at a motorcycle friendly storage place in Herndon in a 10' x 20' unit. I have 5 motocycles, 2 shelving units (boxes and boxes of Victory/Ducati parts), tool cart, front/rear stands, Kendon motorcycle trailer, 4 tires/wheels for my F150, ez-up, chairs, cooler, bunch of other odds and ends - you get the idea. A 10'x20' will easily hold 6 bikes, a 10x15 will easily hold 4 bikes. The storage units are heated and air conditioned, 24 hour accesssible, and the management will drop a cord from the light fixture to provide you with power for a battery tender etc.. For a 6 month term you can get a 10'x20' for $200 a month, a 10'x15' for $172. The place is called Mclearen Slef Storage, 703-437-8100, ask for Nate and tell them you know Gene Hunt.

Gotta keep those bikes safe people! Although for $200 which is more than my payment on a 10k/bike I'd just buy another bike :p lol

200/6 = $33 a month per bike, the idea was for people to go together and keep their bikes out of the elements. Let us know when you buy that other bike.

A very good idea.
wow! I was just going to ask about something like this. I"m moving to Reston or Herndon soon and will be taking the Monster with me. I would be interested in going in on a group storage thing, if that could be possible. Need to keep the duc out of the elements and this could be a good alternative to burdening a friend to keep in in their basement.

Do you know where you are moving to yet? I live in Herndon and the complex I live in has apts with attached garages.
Hey Liam,

I'm actually driving down this Wednesday and aim to get a place before the end of this week. I will be looking at apartments in Reston and Herndon. I'm afraid that most apartments I've seen with attached garages cost a little more than I'm willing to spend right now. If you want to PM me, I'd be interested in the apartments you are at and how you like it.
