Leaving Farley's at 9am for a 9:30 arrival at Alice's followed by the usual favorite routes on the peninsula. Lunch on the coast, possible wheelie clinic in the city afterwards.

This ride is intended to have a quick pace, meaning if you've been on a DML multi-group ride and you weren't in the fast group, this'll be a good ride to skip. That said, this ride is not a rite of passage, egofest or a pissing contest, but a healthy, spirited run that gets your blood pumping a bit. As always, we will ride within our abilities and as conditions allow , just faster than usual >:D.

Post up if you want in. I'll keep this post updated through the week.

Time to try riding the bike with the suspension (nearly) set up properly.

I'm needing a venue in which to break in my new tires...and I don't have a speedo right now, so this ride sounds perfect. >:D [laugh]

If my bike's back from Desmoto by then, I'm in.

In!

Idea: let's meet at MotoJava in SF. Central location, easy to get on the superslab to Alice's, and good coffee. Now if I can convince them to open early enough :)

Moto Java sounds fine. Good location, if nothing else.

As an aside -- let's keep safety in-mind on this moree-spirited ride:
-Check tire pressures
-Check brakes
-Check brake lights and turn signals
-Maintain longer following distances on ride

Cheers,
Tiggy

Ouch...I need to get the rear brakes on the S4R done. Not sure what's going on. But I don't exactly have the expertise to pull that off.

Rear brakes?? What are those for?

I'm in for DR07! Should be fun.

They're for the big victory spin-out at the end of the ride...basically a way for me to celebrate keeping up with you and Tigre [laugh]

I'm thinking of chucking my 208s and getting new tires for the weekend.

Can someone give me a good reco? Based on marketing materials, the Pilot Power 2CT's seem pretty good.

I'm really happy with the Dunlop qualifiers I've got on the Duc now. I like them much better than the M3's I had on before.

Hmm. That also brings up the question of route. Pescadero and La Honda Rd seem to get covered in Pine Needles during the winter. Anyonw been down there lately?

DQ: What is goign on with your rear brake? Not that you should need it much, but you should have a fully functional bike.

Speaking of which, I need to bleed mine. Badly.

I think the fluid is boiling, but I also suspect there's something wrong with the pads...which Hattar was supposed to have replaced 1000 miles ago. The pedal is extremely soft, with no braking when the engine is warm and a small amount of braking when it's cold.

Problem is that the rear brakes are impossible to bleed or inspect without taking the rear wheel off. And that's something I'm not comfortable doing. I have to pick up the Supersport this week from Desmoto anyway, so I'll see if they can do the job while I wait.

Really? Tell me more. I have the M3s on now and they're behaving OK. I haven't tried the qualifiers though. What do they do better?

That seems strange that you'd need to take the wheel off to bleed them. How come?
