I'm just curious if the wheels off a St4s will fit on my monster. The sizes seem to be the same, I just don't know how everything works out with the brakes, sprockets, etc. Any info would be appreciated.
that's correct. st4s wheels are same as monster s4. they'll fit any '02+ bike. the front wheel WILL fit your '01 monster (25mm axle) but the rear's different.
Damn...Well if anyone with an '02 wants some rims they're on ebay right now for 200 a pop. And they are the grey five spokes, they look much cooler than our stockers and probably weigh less. I think they're aluminum.
correctamundo again bro... the cast 5spoke aluminums are definately lighter than the cast 3spoker's.
designed by marchesini, they're actually manufactured by brembo (interesting, eh?).
dunno how much the 3spoker's weigh exactly, but i weighed my stock 5spoker's before selling them way back when. these weights are WITH the bearings and valvestems:
front = 9 lbs, 1.5 oz
rear = 15 lbs, 5.0 oz
sprocket hub = 2 lbs, 13.4 oz
