Ohlins! [thumbsup] I have one on a '99 M750 and it was probably one of the BEST "mods" I ever did to the bike. Just a heads-up, if you can find a used one from a 888 you'll save a ton of $. Something like this......
Depends on the budget. Ohlins will probably be best - but it's possible to find some of the mid range adjustibles off ducs on e-bay for about 1/8th the price of a ohlins unit. Jsut somethign to consider....
whatever you buy (i've had great experience with penske) Get it valved and sprung for your weight. that's almost more important than having bells and whistles.
Ohlins/Penske etc. would definitely deliver much better suspension for sure , but a very cheap solution is getting a better progressive rear spring, unlike the soft crappy stock one. I am amazed with the improvement that I got with my $60 hyperpro rear spring.
We got a Penske from chris at ca-cycleworks that was (relatively) inexpensive, and does a good job.
it was the one w/out the remote res.
