I realize this might sound like a dumb question, but I am trying to figure out why my brake light doesn't come on when I pull the front brake lever (details in this post), and I can't actually find my front brake light switch to check it for damage / replace it!

Is it inside the brake fluid reservoir on the handlebars? Mounted below it? Somewhere else on the bike? I see two thin cables leaving the brake fluid reservoir that I think must be involved in this setup somehow, but I don't know what I am looking at and don't want to unscrew that and risk breaking another part in the process.

Yep, agree with Dvy378. The original fitment is a microswitch that clips into the holes shown with the red arrow. About the same price as one of those hokey switches at the green arrow

Yep on the above 2 posts.
You probably have a connector flapping around somewhere for it.
