Check it out. I live right by where these are made in France. They are not real common even here, but when you do see one, they grab your attention. They are expensive (26,000 Euro ~30,000 US$). They mush have a "cult" following, because You can buy 2 pretty nice other brand bikes for 26,000E.
The 996 part must have been someones imagination and some fancy body work / decals.

If I remember correctly, I have seen pictures on the web of a 907 and an F1B with a sidecar.

I think it's creative photoshop. Look at the -1.jpg also looks a little fishy. Why ruin a perfectly good 996???

I read an article once about a guy who did that to a 916. He was tired of all of the cruiser based side-hacks, so he turned his Ducati into one. The article said that it actually ran pretty good because of the v-twin grunt. I think the guy was paralyzed or lost a foot or something like that. It really looked good though.

8)Re: what is this all about??

Saw a guy at the WSB at Brands Hatch a couple of years back with a 916 fitted with a 'Sidewinder' side car, its not really a sidecar, more of a single sided stabiliser thats hinged to allow the bike to lean in corners.

He was saying that he lost an arm & a leg in an accident many years before, but always wanted a Ducati.

One of my friends back home in the UK who is also disabled, rides a M900 with modified gear shift & rear brake on the same side.

Check out http://www.nabd.org.uk/ for pictures of more modified bikes.
