The tankbag that covers the tank is a little too pricy for me, but I have heard all the ones with straps scratch the bike. Which tank bag would you recommend? The DP soft bag? The Oxford bag that the Ducati store sells?

I went with the 20 Liter Marsee Teardrop (fits curve of tank and thus doesn't ride too far forward on bars).

The photo is of a magnetic mount, but mine has straps (only a bother when stopping to fill up, but the same with any tank bag).

Check out twisted throttle tank bag system it doesnt contact the tank at all. You add a mounting ring where the fuel cap attaches. The install takes about 20 minutes and allows for different bags and camera mounts. I have had mine for about 3 months and would rate it A+.

Bags-Connection "Daypack II" Quick-Lock Tankbag for SW-MOTECH Gascap Mounting System
The Bags-Connection Daypack II Quick-Lock Tankbag is a small 3.5-liter to 6.5-liter tankbag that locks to a subtle bracket that installs to pre-existing threaded holes in the motorcycle’s gascap. Its design has been recently updated and no longer includes a map window and instead has an external lid pocket. A larger add-on map case is now also available! $74.99

I searched alot for a nice one that was strap mount and worked great on a monster. I found one that had lots of room and was expandable. I have one on both of our monsters and love them. They are from Moto-Pak, the price is hard to beat too!
Here they are on our bikes....I have attached the image.
Also, here is the link to the company website;

+1 on these guys. The bag sits on the mounting ring and does not touch the tank at all. My only complaint is I didnt use them before running 5k miles with a strap on bag permanently damaging my tank's finish.

Hey Stasher.

I'm in Winnipeg. Look me up next time you roll through town or want to hook up for a ride. You going to Ouray?
