Taken last May in Oregon, near Happy Camp.

For those who have never seen it, this is black ice.

And here is the result.

Have a nice day! ;D

Been through black ice several times on 4 wheels, but never encountered it on 2. I don't want to.

Here's a pic from a 'day after Xmas' SoCal ride 3 years ago.

I rode across it (from right to left in this pic) and the bike squirmed a bit... I think I just got lucky.

I still remember that ride you SoCal guys took the SF group on, up the Angles Crest, with a couple of 6-8" ice "streams" in the corners. That was fun (not). I think you were just having fun with us... [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

I did hit black ice in Boston once, in a car, when braking for a red light. Hit the brakes and nothing happened, except the car started to go sideways through the intersection. Fortunately no one was coming so I made it through anc was able to straighten out and creep home.

Funny... it seems that the hairiest SoCal rides happen when we've got someone new with us.
