While cleaning and inspecting my '02 M620, I noticed for the first time the two mounting holes shown in the attached picture of the lower right side of the engine. What are these holes for? Should there be screws or plugs in them?

The holes in the cylinder are for the fairing spreaders on the older full faired SS's, the one by the oil filter however, ::)????? ::). BTW, wanna come over and clean my bike ;D.

Thanks for taking a look. Clean bike? That's what WD40, S100, early retirement, and autumn days can lead to. (Although, I do see an oil smudge in the picture, I'd better get out there and get to work with a rag.) :p

I think the other guys got you squared away on the purpose(s) of the holes.

Wow, that is clean. I feel so ashamed.. I better take the rest of the day off and get cleaning....

Bob,

Glad I could help. The "posting pictures" routine is a little uncooperative.

Purportedly it prevents outside links to our pictures hogging the bandwidth.
