I APPRECIATE all of your feedback on this.

SO
I bought the Foggy S4 1600miles......
Managed to get it for $10k with all the bits and pieces it came with, including 2 Ducati Corse helmets.

I figured I could combine my old 95 916 with my 95 M900.... Your right about all the mods for the 900 adding up to MAYBE 90hp and MANY $$$.
And for this price for 1 of 300 that seem pretty ok with me. Since all the standard S4's were minimum of $9k, I figure that's not to bad.

Enjoy the bike. When you photograph it, be sure to get a closeup of the carbon bits on the sides.

Hello ALL S4 owners,
I just finished reading the "BAD DNA" post... Wow. The Foggy I am picking up has 1600 miles on it.
What am I looking forward to, New ECU? New Battery?
I am trying to find out if it is still under warranty if any,

invest in a yuasa YT12B-BS battery.
if the ECU's not correct, you'll only see one radiator fan come on when running hot (in traffic). regardless of it the bike's out of warranty, i think you could make a case to get it replaced.

I'm currently in contact with local shop about CPU issue. Will let you know how it goes.

I just returned fro Pro-Italia, (my local shop). Service dept. said they don't know of any CPU problems with Foggy's.
BUT they did say they have had MANY problems with the batteries, (NOT limited to the S4's though)
Seems they are having qiute a few issues across the board with batteries in all the bikes.
CPU problems worry me though, please keep me informed. I should have my bike in about 12 days.

I wrote earlier about my ECU. Just confirmed that Ducati is going to replace mine. Part has been ordered and will be installed when it arrives. Regional reps seem to know about issue where as local dealers may not.

I will have to wait about 12 days utill mine arrives, I have an email in to the seller about any problems he has had.

Is it true that they came with 2 ECU's?

He said he had everything that came with the bike, stands cover etc.

Do you think I might have a problem gettiing DNA to replace my ECU if it is bad, since I am not the original owner?

see if you can get the jacket. some bikes ordered from the net got limited edition foggy jackets. some bikes sent to dealers didn't get them.

I don't know about the coat but mine came with the 2 computers. Stock S4 and the wrong hipo one. Also you should get stands, cover, all stock pieces (full S4 stock exhaust, side panels, CF exhaust guards etc.) what # did you get?

I was told he has everything so I hope that's true. He also is sending me 2 Ducati Corse Helmets.
I got a good price on it so I went for it. I just hope If I have any problems they will be covered.

My battery leaked at less than 600 miles, delaer replace with a jell. The instruments started to fog up soon after that and the dealer has them ordered. Other than that everything is peachy on my '02 S4.
