I was told by the SM at the local Duc dealer that if I choose to do my own oil changes that my warranty will be void for any potential problems revolving around lubrication.

Anyone here heard that before? I know on cars as long as you retain the reciepts and record the mileage you are fine (or at least it used to be that way when I bought my last new car in 1994).

Any inf. would be apprecaited.

As far as I know for most dealers it is not a huge deal... however if the warranty claim is large the manufatures are going to do whatever they can to not pay out. You might have a fight on your hands. Of course I don't trust the work that the dealers do anyways so I have never had a bike in the shop. I have owned over 30 bikes over the last 14 years, averaged over 20,000 miles per year and have always done my own work. Its my way of relaxing.

If you want to play it safe have them do the service $$$$$$

Ditto what Higgie said. Your dealer is just trying to scare you into giving him more business.
