One of the little screws that hold the face on the tach has backed out on my bike, now just sitting loose in the tach.

Dealers, PA Speedometer, NH Speedo, and other speedo shops all say it is a sealed unit that can't be repaired - must be replaced.

I'm looking for a used one that has a screw backed out, or the needle fallen off, etc. to experiment on.

Re: Wanted! Broken Tach for '00 M900 to Experiment

I saw a few on ebay. Broken with the same problem you've listed. Have a look.

Re: Wanted! Broken Tach for '00 M900 to Experiment

I have a M900 '95 model. I had the speedo unit smashed up recently and did some investigation. The indicator needle is glued on the spindle, which makes removing the facia interesting !
Also the bezel is a seperate item from the glass cover and spacer ring underneath. The bezel is also glued on to the white plastic body of the instrument.
I ended up getting a replacement bezel (black anodised aluminium) at a local instrument repair shop and peened the edge back over to seal it.
Seems OK but my trip meter is still [email protected]#$ed, and only clocks upto 9 kms, so I'll probably have to open it up again and see if I can replace / repair the cogs....
Have fun !
