I think they've had a tough time trying to find a buyer. But that's been going on a couple years. At this point I think they're considering an IPO in order to detach themselves effectively and bring up their own market value. Traditionally, ownership of "Luxury brands" tends to be a strike against your own valuation. Can't keep shareholders happy selling a handful of expensive vehicles to a few buyers. You have to sell cheap vehicles to millions of buyers. Personally, I don't know if it could be made to work at this point. An IPO would be interesting though. It would definitely be a roll of the dice.
