I fixed my Wife's scooter (yay!). The engine got a spark but no gas, anyhoo it turns out that the fuel
pump was badly corroded as was the inside of the tank.

Removing the tank, draining it and cleaning were not so tough nor was getting the old pump out. Putting the pump back though was difficult for anyone with muscles in thier forearms!! (I recommend getting your girlfriend/ wife to help) Anyways after 1/2 an hour of cursing and straining and wishing I was an obstetrician I got it back into it's retaining bracket.

After buttoning everything back up (getting the tank gasket in was pretty easy using a small screwdriver), the beast fired right up. Definitely a one beer job, and many thanks to Mark for selling me a used pump and saving me $120!

Does anyone know of any treatment I can use in the tank to arrest or slow the corrosion in the tank?
