running the same unit. easy to install, very decent lighting, great price. i went with the black unit. i dig it, but with what i've since done with the bike, i'm thinking about picking up a single headlight again to compare... drop me a line if you go for it and consider selling your stock unit.

Strati,
Do you have any pictures of the black? I bought the carbon. I still did not get them yet. Its been almost a month. Stuart says they were mailed out on Nov 8th. But he said that Oct 31st too. But anyway. Are the lights all black? Or is the ring near the light chrome, with just a black back? How many wires come from each light?
The weather keeps getting up into the 50's each day. So I am trying to get out on the bike as much as possible. But I think this last weekend was it. So my pipes will be in the mail soon. Being this would be the first S4R your doing, I would be willing to come out with the bike to do it on a weekend. I plan to hit Vanson in the next few weeks anyway. I can get the pipes to you on a Friday. Do Vanson on Saturday and come back Sunday to finish.

I did the Spareshack twin-headlight conversion (but had to go back to OEM b/c of a crash). The harness that comes with the bike and the harness that comes with the lights are not plug-n-play. Just unplug the wires and plug them into the harness you need. You'll have to open the harness first (pry it open).

Strati: I know you said "compare," but if you're looking to go back to a stocker, I'd love to do a trade, your duals for my stocker plus cash. Let me know, bud. [email protected]

Thanks Strati,
I bought the carbon because I could not make up my mind. Black or carbon. I bought the carbon, because I can always paint it black if I choose later.
Does each light have a high beam and low beam? I would rather run with both on then one at a time. Not that it really matters. I gave up on ever seeing the lights anyway.

that's correct. each light has a high/low and a running light. better coverage than the stock round unit which is one thing that's kinda holding me back from going back to the big eye.

Cool,
If I ever get mine, I am sure I will like them. But at this point I get the feeling I won't. And with my now damaged exhaust, my spirits are down. I tried to fix the pipe this morning. I could not get it to budge. I think it may have been pressed in at the factory and was meant to break before anything more important did. I guess I will be buying that full system sooner then expected.

Well I couldn't wait. I went to the shed tonight and put some stuff on my bike. I still could not get the pipe repaired. I am going to let my dealer do it. They are not going to charge me. I work there part time. I never pay labor.
The lights are cool. And they seem to work well. The high beams and low beams work right. Even the parking lights work. But for some reason my passing light switch does not seem to work anymore. What could I have done wrong?
