I can't find the spec anywhere... anyone have any idea or just "snug"?

Yeah, the torque values for the clutch cover and alternator cover bolts.

Technically, there are a couple of issues that effect what torque is necessary for the sidecovers.

The alternator cover has the stator mounted to it, which is a fairly heavy part.
Also, it houses the bearing that supports the end of the crank.

Additionally, the torque necessary to maintain an oil-tight seal is dependent on the stiffness of the cover, and how far apart the bolts are.

I use the snug with a T-handle approach. 6ft lbs isn't much, you would need a little torque wrench to even measure that.

I use snug as well, there's too much of a chance of breaking the head of those bolts off or worse, stripping the holes in the case
