A long ago i had replaced my front sprocket with a 14t. I managed to wash/shine the bike only yesterday and noticed a big scratch (sized as my thumb) in the carbon sleeve which has been caused by the torque wrench that the mechanic used to adjust the rear wheel nut.

When i touch this part, it is very soft unlike the other parts of the sleeve which are very rigid. As i'm afraid that this thing could become a large hole over the time, is there anything i can do to restore the carbon fibre.

Can i use a car lacguer to clear coat the damaged area. Or i should use an epoxy ? What's the procedure?

NOTE: the weave looks ok when i direct light over it but it looks pretty blurry/mat finished otherwise.
