Has anyone installed one of these systems on a fuel injected bike. I have a 2003 800 and I'm ready to start doing a few mods. I know that I'll need a power commander if I modify the breather system and I'll buy them together if I make the change. I just want to know if the beast system is a better way to go than an open airbox or maybe I should stay with the stock airbox with a K&N since I'll only have slip ons and not a full race system.

Thanks for any future advice,

If you open the airbox, you need to go with a filter that can be exposed, ie a K&N filter. If you keep a closed airbox and put in a K&N filter, the amount of air flowing through the system doesn't change that much so you wouldn't need a power commander.

I installed the TPO intake & I'm very happy with it. I installed the Techlusion Fuel Injection Box to adjust the air/fuel mixture to keep my Monster from running lean. It was less expensive than the Power Commander & does a great job for what I wanted. You might want to check it out.

Ducatz,

Thanks for the response. Do you have any problems with riding in the rain or washing your bike...... was it a good change in performance.

Murry:

I have no problem washing the bike & I haven't been stuck out in the rain yet. I've heard no complaints from others either about the rain.
I did get a little more power with the mods that I did. I a mvery happy with my bike now. It rides great & sounds awesome as well.
