has anybody ever drilled a swingarm for dowels? im interested in adding dowels for my bikestand but i have no threaded holes there. is it possible to drill the swingarm for the dowels?

You'll have to add a Nutsert (threaded insert that is "swedged" into a hole in thin material) because the swingarm isn't thick enough to tap threads into. Second option is to have threaded bosses welded to tha swingarm.

i figured the mayerial was too thin. what about this nutsert? im assuming they will hold in place to support the bike.

I am going with the rivetnut approach. I am also using the really cool Lightning Performance swingarm slider/spool combo.

I picked up a set of these cool sliders that have an M8 - 1.25 thread. The hardest part was finding aluminum rivetnuts for my aluminum swingarm. I found them at McMaster Carr, 25 count for $14.00.

Already did this to my M620. I own my own Thread-Setter kit from Marson. Heres a link to their site so everyone who isnt familiar with the product knows what they are and how they work. Theres even a picture :)
