Today, on the way back from class my '99 m750 seemed to lose most of it's power. 1st gear felt like i was in 3rd or 4th and i was having trouble getting about 25mph. It was low on gas and I was thinking that maybe the carb bowls were almost empty or something that a fill-up would fix. That didn't fix it. I also checked the plug wires, but they seemed tight. I took off my airbox cover and started it (started, but didn't like running too much) and i noticed that fuel was misting out of the front cylinder carb, and sometimes backfiring (or blowing back?) so quite a bit of fuel comes out the carb. I can also hear a "hollow" sound coming from the cylinder (through the carb openning). I need some help trying to figure out what is going on, I haven't adjusted anything, so i don't think the carb went out of sync... anyway, if you have any suggestions let me know asap, getting to class is kind of important!
Thanks for your time!

Re: Sudden loss of power, fuel spray out front car

Hey Chris,
Thanks for the tip off!! I switched the plugs and the problem moved to the back cylinder! 1 trip to the Ducati dealership, 2 spark plugs, some Maxima chain wax and $10 later, I have a very happy monster!
