Absolutely... it tastes much better too. I find the 4 cup Bodum which is really 2 real cups to be perfect for portion control. I make up a fresh batch every morning and put it in a thermos thingy. 20 min later after getting to work, I have my coffee. This way my breakfast has had some time to digest.
What coffee are you using? Lately, I've been going thru the various $buck$ 'Bold' beans. You can definitely taste and smell the difference, especially after going thru an entire bag of one flavor.
I've been lurking around for a bit. However, I took delivery of my 2007 S4RS this past Tuesday (profile now updated). So I'm officially a Monster owner now ;D. I haven't had much of chance to go break her in proper like yet. So far, it has been just a few trips around the block in the evening. That said and weather permitting, I can't wait for the weekend.
Back to the topic at hand...
I prefer my coffee black and strong (bold and smooth). Occasionally, I'll add some half and half. I've found that the press pot gives the best flavour. It's also very quick. I steep my grounds for 3-4 min tops.
I am currently going thru a bag of the $buck$ Yukon. It's good, but nothing really stands out about it. I'd say it's pretty mellow, just a tad bit stronger than the House blend. As for the other "Bold" bags... The Kenya has a great aroma and is full of flavors. The Komodo is definitely 'Bold' w/a sweet nutty taste. I find it to be the boldest of the bold. However, my favourite 'Bold' so far is the Verona.

I used to work for star$, so I got to try it all. The old Mocha Sanani and Komodo Dragon was great, and Mocha Java was pretty good. But Mocha Java was discontinued, Sanani is like $16 a lb, and the Komodo Dragon is a seasonal thing - it hasn't been really good again for a couple of years. Anniversary is occasionally good too. I like the spicy middle eastern varieties, and some of the Indonesian blends. Just not the "earthy" stuff. Star$ is good for educating the customer on how to taste. Go in and ask to do a tasting. They love it and will set up a couple of french presses and get out some pastries, and basically talk your ear off. Then take your knowledge and look for small local roasters who buy and roast in smaller batches. More dynamic flavours that way.
edit: Verona makes a pretty good espresso. Make sure your water isn't too hot. Boililng is too hot. Try only 180* or so. If you're really into it and want to be a total queed, I can loan you a thermometer. And congrats on the bike.
If you can get Steaming Bean coffee at your local grocery store, look for Velvet Hammer. It's roasted in Telluride. I used to work for them too, when I lived in Durango.
Locally, I get KGBlend from Dazbog or (I can't remember the name of the blend) made by Silver Canyon from the Barking Dog Cafe in Lyons. You can get Silver Canyon more locally, but I like the Barking Dog. It's a cool shop.
In your french press, try putting a spoonful of sugar, a knife tip each of cinnamon and cardamom. Don't overdo the spices. It gives it a good Arabic/Turkish flavour. Which makes me think of good home made chai. Mmmm.
You know what is really GAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY...... 16 of your last 20 posts (I quit counting at that point). That's really funny, but REALLLLLLLLY GAAAAAAAAAAAY.
I do, however, appreciate your adding to my fan base!!!!!! I mean watching and counting my posts...tantamount to stalking!?!?!?! Judging by your aatar, can we assume you're another GAY gamer/computer GAY!?!?!?!!?!?!?! Probably gonna show up all Icon leathered out, stickers and crap on your sled??
MMMMM Jamaican Blue Mountain. Back when I used to sell coffee this was our most expensive stuff ... it was like $20 per pound 15 years ago ... I can only imagine what it is now. But it was worth it! [thumbsup] Course, anything beats the hell out of this ashtray-tasting stuff that we have here at work. It's not Folgers but I think somewhere like 2 steps below that.
