Stock fork setup on 2003 M1000

Hi,
I'm trying to find out how the '03 M1000 Dark's had their forks setup out of the factory. Did they have the forks level with the top of the triple clamp, or protruding 10mm above the clamp, as with most other monsters?

Has anyone on an M1000 had experience with dropping the front about 10-12mm?

I'm have had to drop the front to to fit a CycleCat triple clamp
