Hi guys...I recently bought a used 2000 M750 which came with a gray DID chain and a AFAM 41 tooth rear sprocket. (front sprocket is stock) This is where I get confused....were these parts originally installed on my bike or where they "upgraded" by the previous owner? I ordered a AFAM 14 tooth front sprocket so I'm deciding on what to do. Chain and rear sprocket looks in very good condition although little adjustment on the swingarm is left. Can this chain be shortened, like I said it looks in very good condition. Thanks!!!!

Maybe. Particularly if the bike has 12K miles or less. If the chain is a DID VL it is probably original since most folks upgrade to a VM or different brand. The chain link should be marked. 41 is the stock sprocket size for your model and Afam is an OEM supplier. You can assume if the chain is original so is the sprocket.
