Hi Fellow Monster Owners.
I rebuild my 2000 Monster 600 Dark after a battery blowup last year.
The rebuild also involved a few mini projects, inc Repain of the tank and fenders, a repaint of my frame and also a replacemnt of the stock aircleaner with K&N Pods.
The bike has been running like a dream since the rebuild.
I do however have two anoying issues: 1. With the pods in place the bike backfires and the general advise is to rework the carburator with new jets etc. 2, after reassembly the stock cans on the right side of the bike dont fit the standard exhaust.
Help......Any advise of how to get the cans issue fixed.
I will upload a pic of the rebuild bike plus the left and right side cans.
Thanks
WineMaker

I'm not exactly familiar with the exhaust setup on your bike, but the fact that the cans wont go on and it's back firing makes me wonder if the headers are seated properly at the manifold. If one of them isn't sitting right, it won't be sealing properly which can cause the bike to back fire. It will also misalign the header which could explain why the cans wont go on.

Hi TonyB
The headers and Manifold are correctly seated. It is more a case of the slipon is to short...it seem to be a issue with the bracket but I am visiting my local echaust shop to get is sorted.
