Why the hell are they so expensive? Does any one know any cheaper brands? maybe in the $200 range? Also is there any reason why people prefer the top mount over the side type? is it just looks?

I've had good luck with Toby dampers. I think Yoyodyne sells them.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually looking into those and also Sprint dampers. It seems like Sprint has a longer history, while Toby seems higher tech. Anyone Have first had experience with both?
