How do you remove the spring on a rear shock? Do you have to clamp it to keep it from expanding or just loosen the preload adjusters all the way?

never done it myself but i'm pretty sure you'll need a spring compressor.

I've done it with a home made spring compressor (which just about killed me), & now I use a professional one. There may be another way to do it, but I don't know what it is. If you want to borrow mine, just drop me a line.

Can I borrow it to?

Um, can I just mail you my shock and you can take it off? ;)

The "almost killed myself" was with the homemade one. I'll be happy to loan my NEW, GOOD one to anybody who needs it, or, I'm just as happy to do spring swaps for you.
