I bought a sweet Spidi leather jacket on ebay brand new from Lockhart-Phillips (their distributor) for 1/3 of the price offered by kneedraggers.com. The jacket is of very high quality. They are sized very small though so keep that in mind.

Have never worn a Spidi - but have heard many good things. I think it is a big brand for UK riders - so you should get reviews in UK Bike mags - or Motorcyclenews.com.

And by the way - Herb - did you get your bike from Al Gillen?

I didn't buy my bike from Al - but wish I did. I did have a couple of services done by him - and he helped me out a couple of times.

Good man - I just saw you were from Buffalo and assumed you were using him. I am originally from Youngstown (all tucked away up there) - so Al was the closest Duc dealer (thak god).

Say hi to him next time you are in there - he might remember me - just tell him I am the joker who shipped his S4 over to Dublin.

As far at the SPIDI goes - I actually came across a couple of reviews on their suits / jackets this weekend - and they are definitely recommended (and crash tested).

I've been wearing a Spidi Factory Old jacket for over a year and really like it. Thick leather ,good fit , comfy armor. Was kind of stiff when new but after breakin and a little Lexol its like butta. Also have a pair of Spidi Multi pants that I like very much but the zipper isn't compatible with the one on the jacket. Go figure. I am looking to sell the pants(euro size 50) if anyone is interested. IM me.

Spidi makes nice leathers at a good price. I had a hook suit and now have a Norick Jacket.

They tend to run close to Dainese in size which IMO is pretty true to size.

That photo was taken after yesterdays "shrinkage" ride. Now that I'm warmed up, you'll have to unroll that "censored" banner. ;D

I bought a set of Norick leathers from the Lockhart Phillips ebay auctions and so far I'm really pleased. They fit me really well and the armor is comfortable. I doubt they would be good for really hot weather, though they do have some perforation. They run pretty close to Dainese sizing, which is right for me since I'm not "big-boned" ;D The Lockhart guys were great to deal with too. I got a size too big and even though it says clearly in the auction that they don't take returns or exchanges, they exchanged it for a smaller size no problem, quick turnaround too. Paul's a great guy over there.

IXS uses the b!tch zipper too. It's apparently fairly common in euro clothes.

A buddy got an IXS jacket and fumbled with the zip for a little while, but like a like a lot of things, you can get used to it. He's now very happy with the jacket. FWIW. He's gotta have 10,000 mi on it.
