Being they're on order it's probably too late to ask, but:

Anyone with experience with these short mufflers?

They're supposed ot be all CRES, so I won't have to fool with repacking. I read somewhere that the clamp to the pipe isn't the best design, but figure if it's not perfect I can kluge a solution. And I think they are what I want for lines on the 620 Dark.

I have the low 105dB version and i love em. It took a little bending of the welded-on bracket to line up the holes . They are deep and loud ! They caused a slight lean condition (white plug tips) but a PCIII and some dyno time sorted that .

MarkIV,

Thanks. I'll be opening the airbox and running down to GP for the 600 mile service and a quick dyno run to re-map the chip, so the mix should be sorted pretty well.

Nice to hear about the noise. I like setting off cage alarms.

I have the high-mount Sil megas. I think they're the perfect pipes for a Monster, particularly along the minimalist theme that I enjoy.

They're very loud, but with a nice crisp rumble that I really enjoy.

I have a question on these high mounts. How are they for the passager? Do they run real hot, as they are SS. I've been leaning towards CF as I'd prefer not to burn my wife's thighs off.

Don: High-temp exhaust paint, flat black, $4 a can at your local AutoZone/Checker/Pep Boys. Sticks like a champ.

I never carry passengers, but I can put my bare hand on the cans at full temperature and not be uncomfortable.
