Hey fellow riders. Infineon Raceway (Sear's) is looking for race
fans
to help them to know how to promote motorcycle racing. They're
inviting 10-12 race fans to attend a 2 hour get together where you
get to tell
them what you want at Infinion. If you are interested, please

Event date: Saturday, November 15th
Time: 10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.
Place: Infineon Raceway, in our main conference room overlooking the
track.
What YOU get: pastries, juice and coffee when you arrive and each
participant will receive an Infineon Raceway hat, t-shirt and 2
weekend
event passes to the AMA Superbike event in 2004.

Why are you giving that a thumbs down? I will sit through two hours of market research to get free passes to a race. I sit here at my desk for 8 hours a day listening to people drone on about life insurance. I think I could stand about anything now- even a ride with Herb.

Right On! I just got off the phone with the girl from SP. I am going to this Focus Group meeting, to discuss how to attract more AMA fans to SP. Looks like there are only 8 spaces left, and she is going to be sending out questionaires to people who can't attend. Should be fun, and I get SP goodies!!!! ;D

Can you throw in an gripe for me when you go??
I always camp when i go to sears...and the camping has REALLY been going downhill.
it used to be in a nice grassy area in the middle or near the track, near restrooms...
this last year it had moved to a dusty field near bumfuk, egypt. oh and the price went from 10 to 35 with a reduction in services.
The camping was part of what made Sears fun to me....think i might check out fontana this year instead

I think that is why they are doing this meeting. SP has been targeting their NASCAR fans for far too long and now the AMA fans are dropping off in the droves. They want to figure out how to appeal to the AMA crowd and be more appealing. I am thinking better vendors,more advertising,meet the ridersQ&A. The way that LS does for WSBK.

How about this?

When it is 97 degrees out and you've just arrived in full leather, have *some water fountains* around the track so you don't have to pay 3 bucks for a gulp of H2O? This isn't just them, but a general marketing scheme to make you pay for something that should be free (if only for health & safety reasons). Dehydration is very bad for keeping the shiny side up.

Okay, so only 2 recommendations for the M&R meeting? I know there are more of you that go out there in April. List your gripes, so I can present them to the PR people.

BTW.... We got our notice from Laguna Seca for PreRegistration for camping and tickets. Only 8 more months ;D

Great meeting today at SP! Lots of great ideas were put on the table for them to think about. On a very positive note. There will be SuperMotard at SP for SonomaFest in 2004, also they are looking into doing a Cannery Row type event with Petaluma or Novato. Greg and I gave them a ton of information coming from the Moto community. We are going to have them be a sponser on BARF and also get them to be a particpant in ASBN. I am going to be working with the M&R director until May to give him more information. It was a day well spent, 2 free tickets to SonomaFest and a new hat and t/shirt ;D
