I know this topic has bumbled about, but i am looking for some sort of final answer as to which sealed battery is a good replacement for a '97 m900? Also has anyone beefed up the gauge on their ground strap etc? the negative terminal on my battery is disintegrating.
thanks for any tips,
Brian

I'm looking for one too. I knew the number a few months ago and even went so far as to visit Cycle Gear to see if they had one in stock. But since my original battery hasn't died yet, I figured I would put it off. If someone doesn't post the part number here, I'll try to figure out where I had the number written down and post it.

another option is the LC-X1220P made by Panasonic, got mine on batteryweb.com. pretty much a drop in replacement size wise. only issue is the cable attachments are orientated on the side of the terminals rather than on top like oem. i think i used 6 gauge wire, some heat shrink, and crimped copper tabs to make a new ground line (rather than hack on the oem) and a short 2" jumper/adaptor for the power. all of which could be found in just about any auto supply store. had it in there for a year and a half with no issues.

I'm a fan of the Odyssey PC680. Ridergadgets.com has them for less than batteryweb.com, and if you get the BMW battery package, you get terminal adapters that orient the connections to be like the OEM Ducati battery. (I'm able to use the standard one in my bike, but if the cable was any shorter, I'd need the adapters.)

BTW, these are dry cell, gas recycle, acid mat batteries, which means unlike other "sealed" batteries, these have no acid vent and could even be cracked open without acid spillage. They are also deep cycle batteries and take a charge quickly from a battery tender and supposedly will even take a higher amp charge from a car-type battery charger.
