If you're going to put a tank guard on now, why worry about the scratches that will be underneath it?

If you ride, you'll get scratches. Use some light scratch removing compound, then some wax. It will scratch again. I think most tank protectors are more ugly than a couple wear marks. My 2 cents.

What about using the Tankslapper clear tank protector? It's suppose to invisible and protect the tank from scratches.

scraches are like scars... they're for braging. Remember it's a monster. These aren't pretty foo foo bikes. These are bikes for people that wanted a naked machine with a soul. Not a japanese rice rocket used to show off that you got more horse power than the next guy. BRING ON THE SCRACHES! KICK CAR DOORS WHILE LANE SPLITTING! oh, and kiss the bike goodnight. (i'm a softie)
