I am about to pick up my new S4R! This will be my forth Ducati, it has been my experience that they are usually geared too tall from the factory(usually done to help on noise and emissions) How is the S4R geared? Has anyone re-geared theirs or think it is just right.

BTW M900's in my experience were perfect from the factory with the 39T rear.\

Thanks,
Jeff

I rode a 750, s4 and the s4r all in the same morning. THe s4r does not suffer as much as the others, but probably be happier with at least 1 tooth in the rear. The extra power does smooth things out down low. I am going to wait until my first service to decide if I am going to change gearing. It may just be getting used to a new ride.

S4R has the wide ratio tranny in it, so it's better than the S4 in that respect.

A riding buddy here dropped a tooth on the front on his S4R. Seems to like it.

I bet he would like it! s4r's high rev capability should work great with a little deeper final drive ratio. Sounds wheelie cool!
