S4R at Mt Glorious on Sunday

hey that was me! all i saw as i approached the T was a blue and white BMW parked up with a guy standing at the edge of the road, i thought ****! cops! but no, just some old guy cruising on his RT. didn't even notice you lot on monsters, sorry! i did see you at the T but didn't pay attention to the bikes, oops. i would have hooked up with you if i'd have paid attention, your start time was a bit early for me to drag my lazy arse out of bed, maybe next time eh?

Yeah we thought he was a cop as well. [laugh]
We'll have to hook up next time, although my reservations about Sunday riding were confirmed when we hit Woodfood and up to Mt Mee. Just too many bikes. Must have been 50+ easy of all abilites and types (cruisers, tourers, sports etc). Its not often you get stuck behind a car who is stuck behind a dozen bikes. Scary stuff.

I feel a weekday ride coming up soon.

let us know when you're planning a week day ride, i'll try and arrange a sickie if i can.

You been getting tickets for loud pipes or what?
I'm thinking of getting the Titanium Arrows as they have a decibel plug in the back to get you just legal with it inserted.
I really don't want the hassell if the cops/transport cops hassell us.

Do they sound similar to the carbon cans with the plugs out?

i don't know what it is really, i've been pulled for license checks, speeding, breath testing and every time i've been let go. yes, that includes speeding tickets. i always get in a conversation about bikes and the coppers seem nice enough (amazingly, some are). the only time i've had a ticket on the S4R was for crossing double whites on glorious by cops with a video camera in a red ute, and that was 3 years ago.
must go touch wood and rub a rabbits foot now, bye. ;D

not sure, I need to go on a ride with Ducmonrob (who has a new set of carbon arrows on his S2R1000) and put the two side by side. I remember reading others saying that the differing materials sound slightly different... But I would hazard a guess that the difference between the two would only be noticeable side by side...

speaking of, at some stage, the Syd duc riders all need to get together so we can get some audio recording gear together and do proper recordings of all the differing combnations. Something for the new year perhaps????

I'll see if I can dig some info from the Arrows site on decibel readings etc.
Its a lot of dosh for these pipes so I've got to get it right.
I like the carbon look better but like to ability to quieten the pipes if necessary.
