S2R 800 question: do you have two threaded holes w/o any bolts or plugs in it?

I have had my '06 S2R 800 for more than several months now, and I just noticed today that there are two threaded holes on either side right next to the air fins, and valve covers. First of all, please confirm that I am not missing any bolts or plugs, and secondly, what is the purpose of these holes? ???

Thanks in advance

You're not missing anything from those holes.

AFAIK, they're for fairing mounts when that engine is in an SS.

I don't think so. The fairing mounts to the frame on the '99 up SS.
Pics?

I will try to take some pics with my nikkor macro lens. I might as well get my moneys worth from that lens.
BTW, the threaded hole is about 3/8" in size
I think they're for items 30 and 31, keep the fairing from flopping around:

You're probably right. I've never seen them on a bike though. I wonder if those are in the category of "WTF are these for? We don't need 'em." [laugh]

If they're the ones I'm thinking your talking about I believe they are for shipping brackets, bolting the bike to the crate.

Bike doesn't get bolted to the crate. It's just strapped in place in the crate.
