Has anyone out there encountered clutch noise (kind of squeeling/squawking sound) and a shuddering sort of feel at the friction point when starting from a dead stop on an '02 S4? For that matter, are these symptoms common on any of the dry clutch Monsters? It seems to me as though the bearing that rides in the pressure plate must be the culprit, but I'd love any feedback I can get on it. Thanks for any and all comments!

My ST2 does that. I think all Ducatis with dry clutches are capable of such behavior.

some folks get that with the dry clutches.

I believe borg_girl had that symptom on her S4, she is in San Francisco and does almost all urban running. Lots of clutch work and starting on hills and such. Others here have mentioned it as well.

IMHO, the plates are a little glazed, and scuffing them up with sandpaper is the solution. IIRC, that's what borg_girl did...

I haven't had that behavior from the clutch on my bike, but I'm pretty easy on it, living in a flat area and doing a lot of highway miles.
