Anyone running one of these? I just put on on my 01 Cromo but the sidestand spring is rubbing the pipe causing significant scratches. The sidestand is not working well either.

I am thinking about removing the fatter of the two sidestand springs?

Any ideas? anyone know of an aftermarket sidestand?

Next is airbox mod, anyone running PC3?need map ideas too.

Thanks,
Michael

how badly does it interfere? would it help if you spaced out the sidestand mount with a couple washers? (not possible if you're running the stock footrests though...)

ps - i wouldn't take off any springs from the sidestand btw... you want that sucker to STAY UP when you're riding.

I just need about 3-4mm.
I was thinking about spacing it out but worried that it might weaken it since the contact surface area is decreased. Am I worried over nothing?

an s4 owner sent me pics of his bike to post in my "other s4's section"... had enough info to give him his own page! he put a 996 swingarm on his s4 and the same under engine exhaust described here on it as well (took some modification since it's not designed for the 4v'd heads). check it out:

I knew a guy with this pipe. At the time I did not think much of it. But now feel it may look sweet on the S4R. But I don't know if they have on that will fit it.

i used to have it on my bike, the puppy is LOUD!!! anyways, i had the same problem as you, i just got rid of the larger diameter spring and never had any problems with it coming down, even after hitting bigass bumps. it still rubbed a little, but at least i could put the sidestand up.

Thanks for all the feedback!
As for power I am not sure yet - need to take it out.
As for loud, It is very loud - louder than my buddies 999 with DP SS can, louder than buddies 888 with Arrow carbon cans and even louder than other buddies 998 with 52mm half system carbon cans.

I am expecting to set off a few car alarms - especially with side exist.

Power is UP down low. That is all I can tell as I am. I am running a stock 39T sprocket and NO more lugging at low revs from a start. I upgrade sprocket when it wears out. :)

Okay now I'm interested again. Gonna have to do some serious research this winter on these pipes. Love the clean look, and if they don't cut HP I'm game.

My Roadracing exhaust has no clearance issues. It's from a 600/750 engine & had one bend slightly modded to suit the 900's deeper sump & sidestand in the way. Also, once the steel wool packing is replaced with fibreglass & the steel wool around the restrictor is removed the bike runs great & is much quieter. It's pretty quiet at idle, & only goes very loud when on the power. Restrictor removal or repositioning closer to the end of the muffler would do wonders, i think!

A shame the mini-review on this site has put a lot of people off what (with a little effort) can be an excellent exhaust. And it looks awesome!!
