I got a gearing report from the gearing guru and will be replacing my rear stock 42 with a 44. Besides a new chain and of course adjusting the slack, is there any other type of adjustment i need to be aware of? lateral?

all three should generally be replaced together, unless the front literally just has a thousand miles on it.

a worn sprocket (front or rear) will accelerate wear on a new chain, because the modified profile of the teeth will not match the pitch of the new chain (only the worn chain).

so, how many miles are on the front sprocket?
