To make a long story short and jump right into the point, my bike fell a few weeks back, insurance adjuster ok'd all the repairs and pointed out to my dealer that my muffler was all scratched up and maybe I wanna fix it. So the insurance guy adds the muffler to the repair. $795 for a stock ducati muffler. I bought the pipes off ebay and sent them to Strati to have them cored out. Ofcourse they were scratched, they were used when I bought them. Anyway, my dealer suggested getting a set of Remus pipes for the money I was given to spend on 1 ducati muffler. Will I be disappointed? He told me they won't be as loud as the cored pipes, but they will be better for the engine. I asked if they could get me a set of Two Brothers because they were even cheaper yet, but they already ordered me the Remus. Again, will I be disappointed? I'd hate to spend the money on the pipes and not hear them. I love sounds!!

remus is a very high quality pipe. can't guarantee your happiness, but it would make me happy.

I had a 900ss and went down, same situation bought the Remus and loved them, put them on my 996 still loved them. You wont be dissapointed, relax and look forward to putting them on. Good luck

Herb, I am getting the aluminum...I wanted to keep the original look of the bike. And when they said better for the engine, they meant opposed to the cored pipes.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in, I feel better knowing that others love them so I probably won't be disappointed.

Maybe a bit off topic....
I bought my '01 750 Dark as a salvage. It has the Remus Grand Prix high mounts on it. I love the sound of them, but they're dinged up pretty bad. I bought some Sil Carbon high mounts to replace them, but haven't put them on yet. Am I going to be disappointed with the sound? Should I exchange them for a set of Remus's?

The SILs sound sweet too! I have SILs on two Monsters. I just happen to like the very "subtle" difference of the REMUS. I doubt most people (non-Ducatisti) would even notice the diffrence.

I have high mount DP Remus carbon fiber pipes. They sound great. I always get complimented on their sound. I was riding along side a friend of mine (who was in his cage) and had someone on the phone. They were asking him what all that noise was. Makes me proud.... also I love cranking her up at 8 in the morning on the weekends. Most of my neighbors are a bunch of butt plug/stuffy/no personality havin fools. You wont be dissapointed. If you are, I suggest getting your head examined. Well, you should probably get your head examined anyway. Its the cool thing to do these days!

Got my bike back today, the cans sound great. Not as loud as my cored out cans, but they definately have a bad a$$ sound to them. Thanks for everyones input.

don't know about ALL the pipes, but i got DP pipes and they have remus stamped into the metal rear.
