Re: Well Time for the 600

My bike was in the shop for about 6 hours. Cost me $340. They replaced a front break sensor (under warranty) and changed the oil/filter. Outside of that, not sure what they did because that is all the invoice had listed.

$340 for an oil/filter change seems high. ???

Re: Well Time for the 600

there is a lot of theoretical checking of tightnesses of bolts that goes on during the 600 mile service.

Basically they do nothing. But they pretend to have checked all kinds of stuff.

I honestly wonder what they actually do versus what they tell you they did during those checkups. I think the best way to be for sure that your cycle is maintained is to take care of the small stuff yourself. I've seen the Ducati maintenance checklists that itemize each thing that needs to be done for servicing. Learning how to do even basic things like change your oil, etc. will save you a lot of money and you'll have the peace of mind knowing that the job got done right. You should search for and download one of these, anything you don't know who to do, learn to do it. you'll be a lot better off by not being at the mercy of the shop mechanics all the time...
