As above check the chain tension and the rear wheel alignment,,,, bad lash is usually due to excess drive line slop

you'll know it when you hear/feel it. there'll be excessive noise from the chain, and you'll feel the tire "lurching" especially at low RPM's. typical cause as noted is a chain that's too lose. remmeber when adjusting though, that you're definately better off with a chain that's slightly too lose than a chain that's too tight!!
