I've got the nut off the primary drive gear (bloody loctite) and now I've got a cheapo puller on the primary drive gear and it won't budge! I've encouraged it with heat and my favorite sledgehammer... I won't be reusing the crankshaft bearings now.
The Haynes manual says they needed a hydraulic puller to get it off but has anyone had success with an ordinary puller? Make and model?
I've worked on 2000 hp marine diesels that were easier to strip down than this f-ing engine!
