Is it very hard to replace the pressure plate? I've seen some nice colored ones that look great behind a vented clutch cover.

No. Remove cover; remove 6 screws/springs in a cross-wise pattern like when you remove a wheel on your car; remove old plate; (assuming pushrod stayed in place and the new PP has a bearing installed) remove pushrod cap from old PP; install pushrod cap in new PP; install new PP aligning to marks on screw post; gently tighten springs and screws. Done.

The STM unit that I went with didn't come with a new throwout bearing... had to pick one up. Whichever one you go with, find out if it includes one up front.
