took my old 900 up to get some tires on it and when it started it had a bad miss but I was late so I just hopped on and ran it up the road.. the miss cleared up for a couple minuits but came back, looked in the mirror and saw smoke.. when i got to the shop, ****...oil every where coming out the crank breather. the shop just called and says zero compression in the rear..should I start checking for a set of pistons? it's still raining like hell so I'll go get it monday

ahh man that sucks, 0 compression usually means dead valve open pressure building up pressure in the crank is dead seal either in the head or piston.

Pop the head 1st, then make a list. Before you toss any parts that look toasted, have someone look at them that builds motors (not your Ducati shop).

i second that if there toast no nead to throw stuff aaway. maybe a new seal and valve seat is all that is needed.
